Description

Arts and Crafts Grasshopper Lamp by Thomas Tayler Smith

A unique lamp in nickel plated brass with a highly detailed grasshopper perched on the side of the stem.  Take a look at the photos to see the amazing detail more closely.

The structure of the lamp is simple bold scrolls and a fine hammered finish to the metal.

This lamp was made by the Arts and Crafts lighting designer TT Smith who also invented the first British electric socket.

A simple frilled antique shade has been added.  If you would like to discuss alternative shades, please let us know as we have hundreds of antique glass shades in stock.

Size 39cm tall including shade,  Weight 0.9kg

Wired with approximately 2 metres of antique style braided triple flex in black.  Fitted with a new  B22 bayonet bulb holder.  PAT tested prior to dispatch.

Please note that vintage lighting may have some light age-related  scratches and marks or slight manufacturing flaws.  Please note that the nickel plated finish has worn away in some places to reveal the brass base metal.  Please see photos for more detail.
