The Arts and Crafts period spanned from 1860 to the early 1900’s. With a focus on well made handcrafted products. Simple shapes in copper and brass would often be embellished with a hammer finish, upside down hearts, celtic symbols were popular. Designers were often influenced by gothic styles and Oriental designs.

We specialise in restored original Arts and Crafts Lighting.  Among the most influential lighting designers are WAS Benson, CFA Voysey and the work of the Birmingham Guild of Handicraft which are much sought after today.

The motto of the Birmingham Guild of Handicraft is ‘By Hand and Hammer’ and this statement is clearly reflected in their work. Much of their work features hand beaten copper with repousse detail in simple heart shapes and domes.

Arts and Crafts lighting continues to appreciate in value today when most of the lighting we see is factory produced in large quantities. View our range of Arts and Crafts lighting on our online shop. We have original table lamps by WAS Benson and pieces by Voycey and the Birmingham Guild. We also have a huge range of unrestored stock which we are happy for customers to choose from.
